At New Horizons we provide supported holiday packages to Jersey and  destinations worldwide. Our supported holiday packages range from pre-packaged group holidays to tailor made packages to suit an individual’s requirements.

We also provide support to families who wish to have a holiday as a whole family but would like support in doing so. We provide support to people with various special needs including Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Physical Disabilities and the Elderly.

We know that there is nothing quite like a holiday to recharge your batteries and, just because you need regular care, doesn’t mean you should have to go without a break. Our supported holiday servces allows you the flexibility to take your care with you, wherever you go, for work or pleasure.

Our holiday care services supports individuals who find it difficult to go on holiday due to the level of care and support that they require whilst away from home, often resulting in them not getting the break they need.

In most cases we are able to provide holiday care for individuals travelling with us. As part of your care assessment, before travelling we will assess your medical condition, care requirements and chosen destination in order to determine the level of care that you require and whether we will be able to provide this care for you.

Our service is tailored to your individual care requirements. Whether you have complex medical care requirements, personal care needs, or are looking for social companionship, we are confident in offering you a high quality care service.

We understand that having a new Carer can seem quite daunting; we aim to ease this transition by carrying out a comprehensive care assessment prior to your care package commencing. Your Carers will be selected to match their qualifications and experience with your care requirements. You will also have the opportunity to meet with your potential Carers before the care package commences.

In order for a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker to come away with you, you will need provide separate sleeping arrangements, food provision and provide an adequate level of holiday insurance.

Tailored To Meet Your Needs
Everyone is unique and will have different preferences regarding the level of support that they will need. As a result, wherever possible, our Carers will encourage you to make your own choices about your holiday, daily needs and support requirements.

In order to provide you with a care service which matches your care requirements exactly, we will arrange for a detailed care plan to be sent to you or for a carer  to visit you and carry out a full assessment of your individual circumstances and needs. Following this, we will be able to provide you with a fully costed proposal for your holiday package.

What Level of Support will I require ?

3:1 = The majority of our guests are in this category. Usually fully mobile and needing just limited help with personal care.

1:1 = For those who need a higher degree of assistance with their personal care. The majority of our customers who use a wheelchair or walking aid are also in this category. Not all group holidays are suitable for wheelchair and walking aid users, our accessible holidays are designed specfically around meeting these needs.

1:2= Our customers with multiple & profound disabilities, often needing full assistance in most aspects of their care. Tailor-made holidays may be the most suitable for people with complex needs.
